Liverpool WaVeS International Music and Marching Band Festival
Application Information
First stage applications for the first Liverpool WaVeS International Marching Band Festival 2024 are now open. Final day for first stage application is November 30th 2023. Except in specific circumstances applications will not be accepted after this date.
The festival is for youth (including schools) and community music groups that use woodwind, brass, strings and associated percussion, drum lines / corps and dance groups. We will also welcome vocal groups. There is no limit to the ages or size of your group.
Please ensure you have read and agree to all the terms and conditions prior to submitting your application.
Expressions of interest will be accepted from any group provided you have no political, religious or social prejudice views.
Stage 1
You need to submit an expression of interest using the contact form with all relevant information including a description of your group and this will clarify that you have read the terms and conditions by November 30th 2023. You will receive a reply outlining if you are (or not) to be considered for the festival (mainly due to prior applications from your country) and if successful when and how the administration fee of £300.00 GBP (international currency fees are not included in this amount) can be paid.
Stage 2
When you reply with the reference for the payment of £300.00 GBP (international currency fees are not included in this amount) administration fee we will then review your application when we have confirmed the payment.
You will also need to produce a recent live highlight video (no more than 5 minutes) of your combined performances (a mixture of marching display and or stage, visual elements, combined performance with other associated groups etc) you will then be able to upload them to a secure file when you are advised. This will be used as part of the review process. You must send conformation to us no later than January 31st 2024.
We reserve the right to edit and use this video for promotional purposes of the festival on various platforms in the future.
Stage 3
You will be contacted within 10 days of us receiving your stage 2 application and no later than January 31st 2024 with our decision on participation.
If successful you will have to submit your acceptance within 10 days of our response with all required information and no later than February 28th 2024. If you refuse the acceptance, we will only be able to refund 50% of your administration fee minus any currency fees.
If you are not successful with your application your full administration fee of £300.00 (three hundred pounds GBP) will be returned in full.
Stage 4
You will receive an email conformation of receipt of your acceptance and you will be able to continue with your preparations to take part in the first Liverpool WaVeS International Music and Marching Band Festival 2024.
We will arrange for you to receive your welcome pack no later than May 30th 2024.
Payment details to pay your administration fee will be sent via a secure link.
